Sarah Gilpin

Sarah is a sculptor based in Portland who responds to the beauty and wonder of the natural world developing an awareness and enquiry into its formative processes. Her approach is to pay attention to the stone - the wood - the reeds; to explore their qualities, to develop a connection to the land, to discover how people have engaged with it through the centuries and across the globe. She hopes to reveal, re- present, and above all to share these stories of the earth and our relationship to it. Sarah is always happy to discuss an idea, commission or project.
